- Provide safe and effective care within an acute inpatient environment, - supporting individuals with a range of mental health needs.

- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient‑centred nursing care for a varied caseload.

- Act as a named nurse for designated service users, ensuring continuity of care and meaningful therapeutic engagement.

- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective care pathways.

We welcome applications from RMNs who are:

- Appropriately qualified, with NMC registration.

- Passionate about delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.

- Able to work effectively within a forensic inpatient service.

- Motivated to develop professionally and contribute to a positive team culture

You’ll be part of a supportive, experienced team within a specialist forensic setting- an environment that values clinical excellence, staff development and compassionate care.

The post holder will act as a named nurse for a designated caseload, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working collaboratively with ward staff and the multidisciplinary team, they will provide clinical interventions in line with individual care plans and liaise with internal and external services to ensure coordinated pathways.

They will contribute to a positive, evidence‑based ward culture, uphold Trust policies, support Clinical Governance, comply with the Care Programme Approach and Mental Health Act, and maintain accurate clinical and electronic records. Effective communication with colleagues, families, and partner agencies is essential.

The role includes promoting dignity and privacy, supporting practice development, and responding safely to distress, aggression, or violence using approved PMVA techniques. The post holder will help prevent incidents and safeguard patient property.

They will mentor students, support newly qualified staff, participate in audit and research, assist with induction, and maintain up‑to‑date PMVA and clinical skills. The nurse must uphold Trust values, promote equality, ensure high‑quality record keeping, follow health and safety and infection‑prevention requirements, and take responsibility for ongoing learning and development.
