Manage P&L, cash flow, and working capital with a practical, SME mindset

Turn strategic intent into clear actions on the shop floor

Operations & Manufacturing (Hands-On)

Be highly visible on the shop floor, supporting teams and resolving issues in real time

Oversee SMT, through-hole, box build, test, and final assembly operations

Drive delivery performance, productivity, and quality through direct involvement

Lead NPI, customer introductions, and process changes from concept to production

Balance short-term firefighting with longer-term improvement

Quality & Compliance

Personally own customer quality performance and key escalations

Maintain compliance with ISO 9001

Lead audits, investigations, and corrective actions in a practical, proportionate way

Supply Chain & Planning

Actively manage suppliers, shortages, lead times, and material risk

Make pragmatic trade-offs between cost, delivery, and customer expectations

Ensure inventory and planning decisions support cash and service levels

Customer & Commercial Involvement

Be the senior operational contact for key customers

Support quoting, pricing decisions, and contract reviews

Help the Founder grow the business through strong delivery and trusted customer relationships

People & Culture

Lead from the front and set the tone for the business

Develop supervisors and managers while remaining hands-on

Build a culture of accountability, openness, and continuous improvement

Experience & Background

Strong experience in a hands-on leadership role within an electronics contract manufacturing SME

Deep understanding of electronics manufacturing and test processes

Proven ability to manage operations, people, and finances in a small business environment

Comfortable working in a founder-led structure with evolving processes

Experience dealing directly with customers, suppliers, and auditors

Personal Attributes

Practical, decisive, and action-oriented

Comfortable getting involved at all levels of the business

Calm under pressure and able to prioritise in a fast-moving environment

Strong communicator with credibility on the shop floor
