About Us
North Somerset Councils Financial Deputy Team deliver high-quality support to manage the finances for clients who lack capacity to do so themselves. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Financial Deputy Support Officer to join our dedicated team.

The Role
As a Financial Deputy Support Officer, you will follow the guidance of the Office of the Public Guardian to ensure compliance of the Court Order for Property and Financial Affairs

You will be an integral part of our team, providing essential and practical support to our vulnerable clients residing in Care Homes. You will assist in managing the financial affairs of clients who lack the capacity to do so themselves, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and with empathy. You will be expected to visit our clients and liaise with the providers and the clients families, therefore you will need to be able to develop professional relationships with the client and all stakeholders involved.

Key Responsibilities:
• Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and met.
• Case Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all clients, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Financial Oversight: Assist in managing clients' finances, including handling invoices, payments, and budgeting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide comprehensive support to clients.
• You will be required to visit your clients at their place of residence this may be in or outside of the North Somerset boundary,

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.


Work Style

Fixed worker until 6 months’ probation period completed then Flexible Worker –
• 1-2 days in the office
• Works both from home and the office, depending on the task at hand.
• Training is provided to help balance work-life and manage time effectively, with an emphasis on communication for team touchpoints and planning in-office days for collaboration.
