Summary

Grade: 3 SCP 5 - 7 £14,391 to £14,85225 hours per weekThe Role
We are seeking a Science Technician to provide vital technical support to our Science department. This role is essential for ensuring that practical lessons are safe, well-prepared, and engaging. You will manage the "prep room" and laboratories, ensuring the science curriculum is delivered effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation: Set up laboratories with required chemicals, apparatus and dismantle and clean equipment afterward.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all activities strictly adhere to COSHH and Health & Safety regulations. Perform routine safety checks, equipment calibrations, and risk assessments.
Technical Support: Assist teaching staff and students during practical experiments and demonstrate the safe use of equipment should
Maintenance: Carry out routine repairs on apparatus or liaise with specialists for more complex servicing.
Inventory & Budget: Monitor stock levels, order new supplies in line with "best value" principles, and manage the secure storage of hazardous materials.
