An opportunity has arisen within the ITS Capability & Talent Team for a Capability and Talent Development Manager. The team is responsible for all areas of Capability and Talent in the IT directorate, including internal training, apprenticeships, the creation and management of development programmes, engagement with schools and colleges, and the development of career frameworks across IT roles.

As a Capability & Talent Development Manager, you will work across a defined area of capability development, working with internal and external stakeholders to identify skills gaps and source suitable solutions. The role requires you to take responsibility for elements of your own work, and you will also work across the team, providing support and cover as needed.

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Building and sustaining effective communications across ITS capability areas, with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Taking responsibility for apprenticeship and development programmes working with senior managers, capability leads, mentors and managers to review and plan student integration to ITS, ensuring the relevant learning and support mechanisms are available.
  • Working closely with DVLA Commercial to monitor the effectiveness of learning both from a student and learning provider perspective (contractual obligations) via structured checkpoint meetings with stakeholders, capturing accurate records of discussions and outcomes.
  • Providing reporting on various Learning and Development activities from across the IT directorate, using MS Excel and Office 365.
