  • Starting salary circa £29,605 per annum + excellent benefits – including 28 days leave + bank holidays, life assurance 5 x your salary, and health and wellbeing support (see the full list below)
  • We are open to this role being hybrid with some remote / home working

Love where you work!

At the Field Studies Council, our mission is to create outstanding opportunities that inspire everyone to engage with and care for the environment.

Every role plays a vital part in making that happen. As our Marketing Officer, you will help share our story, amplify our impact and connect more people with powerful outdoor learning and adventure experiences. Your creativity and strategic insight will ensure our centres, courses and initiatives reach and inspire diverse audiences across the UK.

We value the contribution each team member makes and provide excellent benefits to reward and support you in your role.

What you’ll be doing

Our Marketing team works across eight core accounts, in addition to other short-term projects. You’ll support the delivery of our marketing plans with a particular focus on school, adventure learning and leisure sectors. This will involve:

  • Supporting the development of marketing strategies for specific Field Studies Council learning locations and projects.
  • Playing both a leading and supporting role in delivering campaigns across the full marketing mix, including digital, social and online channels.
  • Analysing campaign performance and audience engagement to inform future marketing decisions.
  • Contributing creative ideas for new campaigns, compelling storytelling and engaging brand messaging.

Please refer to the vacancy pack for further details on the full responsibilities of this position.

Where you’ll be based

The role is based at Field Studies Council Head Office, near Shrewsbury, with hybrid working options available. Your time in the office will reflect team collaboration and business needs.

Our Head Office is situated on the same estate as our Preston Montford Field Centre. The 12-hectare site is managed to provide a rich range of habitats, including ponds, a wildflower meadow, ancient orchard, the remains of a walled garden and even a bee hotel.

If you’re local, you’ll likely attend the office once or twice a week, while more remote team members will be expected to meet in person at least quarterly. There will also be travel required to visit our centres and attend marketing events.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who brings creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm for both the role and our charitable mission.

You’ll already have experience working in a marketing team and be confident with social media management, direct email marketing and content creation.

You’re a proactive team player who takes initiative, works independently and enjoys turning ideas into action.

Knowledge of the outdoor learning and leisure sectors would be an advantage, as would a genuine interest in nature, education and sustainability.

Your benefits whilst working with us will include:

  • 28 days annual holiday entitlement plus bank holidays
  • Extra loyalty days dependent on length of service
  • Life assurance 5 x your actual salary
  • Health and Wellbeing Support App
  • Second opinions from top doctors
  • 24-hour Counselling Helpline Service
  • Cycle to work and EV schemes
  • Reward programme with discounts and cashback opportunities
  • Flexible working options where roles permit
  • Quality learning and development opportunities

If you’re ready to take pride in a role that inspires adventure and connects more people with the natural world, we would love to hear from you.
