Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | September 2026 Start

Are you an Oxbridge graduate looking to inspire the next generation of high-achieving students?

Do you want to play a pivotal role in supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds in securing places at Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities?

KPI Education are partnering with a high-performing, ambitious secondary school in Camden to appoint an exceptional Oxbridge Academic Mentor. This is a unique opportunity for an academically outstanding graduate to work closely with top-attaining students and help shape competitive university applications.

About the School

This Camden-based secondary school has a strong academic ethos and a growing track record of students progressing to Russell Group institutions. With a sharp focus on aspiration, equity and excellence, the school is committed to ensuring that talented pupils — regardless of background — receive the guidance and preparation needed to access elite universities.

The leadership team are investing heavily in their Sixth Form provision, and this Oxbridge Academic Mentor role is central to that strategy.

The Role

As an Oxbridge Academic Mentor, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to high-attaining GCSE and A-Level students
• Deliver Oxbridge preparation workshops (personal statements, admissions tests, interview technique)
• Support students with super-curricular development and wider academic reading
• Assist with preparation for entrance exams such as TSA, BMAT, MAT, ENGAA, LNAT etc.
• Work closely with Heads of Department to stretch and challenge the most able pupils
• Contribute to a culture of academic scholarship across KS4 and KS5
• Track and monitor progress of targeted Oxbridge applicants

You will also support classroom learning within your subject specialism, modelling academic excellence and intellectual curiosity.

Who We’re Looking For

• A First-Class or strong 2:1 degree from Oxford or Cambridge (essential)
• Outstanding A-Level and GCSE profile
• A passion for academic scholarship and widening participation
• Confidence delivering subject-specific stretch to high-ability pupils
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A long-term interest in education, academia or public service

Previous tutoring, mentoring or school-based experience is desirable but not essential — the school is primarily looking for intellectual strength, professionalism and a commitment to educational equity.

Why Apply?

• £28,000 – £32,000 salary
• Opportunity to shape an elite university pathway programme
• Work in a high-achieving Camden secondary school
• Exceptional experience for future careers in teaching, academia, law or policy
• Structured professional development and progression routes

This is a rare opportunity to combine academic excellence with social impact — helping ambitious young people access the very institutions you once attended.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.

If you are an Oxbridge graduate ready to inspire and elevate the aspirations of future scholars, apply now or contact Ryan at KPI Education for a confidential discussion.
