12-month post for afull-time Clinical Fellow within theAcute Medicine Department



Successful candidates will work alongside General Medicine Physicians working within the acute care team. Within the Acute Care Team Successful Candidates will work a range of roles including the ‘Deteriorating Patient SHO Role’



Working at the Homerton Hospital allows successful candidates to work within one of the most ethnically diverse Boroughs in the UK. This will offer the Clinical Fellows a wide range of experience in the detailed interpretation of microbiology laboratory results, management a range of conditions in both inpatients & ambulatory medicine patients.



Successful Candidates will be given dedicated time to develop interests within a clinical specialty of their choice. Previous applicants have worked within Dermatology, Gastroenterology and Critical Care Departments



We invite applications from post‑FY2 doctors aspiring to develop their careers, for a distinguished Clinical Fellow post within a respected London teaching hospital.




Whilst working in this roleyou will act in the role ofThedeteriorating patientSHO. This is a core part of the Hospital at Night team, responsible for the assessment and management of acutely deteriorating medical and surgical inpatients. The role involves working in close partnership with the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) to review NEWS‑triggered patients, provide timely interventions, escalate concerns appropriately, and ensure safe handover of high‑risk cases.

In addition to clinical duties, the role supports the Trust’s wider deteriorating patient improvement programme, with opportunities to develop procedural skills, participate in simulation‑based education, and contribute to quality improvement projects aimed at strengthening deterioration recognition and response across the hospital
