Summary
Fintec Recruit are currently supporting our client with the recruiting of a Head of Commercial Finance & Business Partnering .This is a hybrid working role, 2 days per week in the office based in London.
This role leads the commercial finance agenda partnering with senior stakeholders to strengthen costing, modelling, forecasting, reporting, and systems improvement, with a strong focus on bid support, margin and cashflow optimisation, and high-quality reporting.
Responsibilities:
Lead commercial finance support across project and income generation activity
Provide insight on profitability, cost recovery and cashflow, highlighting risks and actions
Partner with Business Development and Fundraising on financial bid inputs, from creation to submission
Own and improve the project costing model, ensuring governance and timely sign-off
Deliver bespoke modelling for complex commissioning requirements, including cost impact of required change
Produce monthly project reporting, analyse variances, and support budget holders to manage performance
Lead forecasting to end-of-contract and consolidate into the rolling organisational forecast
Improve ledger integrity for projects, including journals/adjustments where required
Deliver accurate commissioner and donor reporting to deadlines, escalating issues early
Support systems improvements (self-serve reporting, dashboards, coding accuracy)
Complete financial due diligence as needed
Key Requirements:
Essential
Proven business partnering with non-finance stakeholders
Qualified accountant
Strong track record of systems and process improvement
Advanced Excel and confident handling large datasets and reporting outputs
Experience in financial modelling and supporting bids/tenders
Clear communicator able to translate finance into practical decisions
Desirable
Experience in charity and/or non-profit environments
Exposure to Sage or similar reporting tools/dashboards
Experience supporting regional/national service delivery models
