Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self -motivated and dedicated site manager, to take responsibility for all aspects of site maintenance and health and safety. The successful applicant will work to support the school within all areas of maintenance, cleanliness, health and safety and security. The potential candidate would preferably have experience of working as a caretaker or site manager in a similar environment.

You will take responsibility for the management of the school site and day to day maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and high-quality environment for the school staff and pupils.

• You will oversee and maintain records for all statutory servicing and compliance checks (e.g. fire systems, water hygiene, electrical testing, alarms, lifting equipment and other required inspections)
• You will have key holding responsibilities and ensure a system is in place for site security cover outside of opening hours.
• You will have a flexible and positive outlook.
• You will be a reliable individual, experienced and knowledgeable in Health and Safety practices
• You will have the ability to work from your own initiative for effective day-to-day management of the site and will work closely with the School Business Manager and Head on strategic site plans.
• You will have good IT skills and good inter-personal skills
• You will have the ability and experience to undertake DIY tasks
• A flexible, pro-active approach with a positive can-do attitude is essential.
• Be able to develop skills and knowledge in all aspects of site management

What the school offers its staff

John Chilton School is a successful school for pupils who have complex physical, medical and learning difficulties. We are innovative in our approach to educate pupils with a range of cognitive, physical and medical needs (4 to 19 years) in a unique environment. The school is located on two sites and the post holder will be primarily based at our Orchard Site in Greenford.
