Band 4, £27,485 - £30,162 Per annum pro rata


Hours: Two posts:
One full time post -37.5 hours per week-fixed term contract for one year.
One substantive part-time post - 22.5 hours per week.
Part time hours may be considered, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working



We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic patient pathway co-ordinators to join the Cancer Services administrative team. These are busy roles and the successful applicants will be team players with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to deliver a high quality, efficient administrative service.

To be the point of contact for all patients issues relating to their pathway of care, both for inpatients and outpatients.
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team for the Cancer and Haematology (CSU), supporting the business and operational management of the CSU.
To provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.
To ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focussed and knowledgeable point of contact.
To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) will describe how the functions of this role will be carried out along with the timescales to which are to be adhered.
Provide comprehensive secretarial/PA support to consultants and clinical teams within the CSU

Use Trust IT systems and CSU databases to ensure relevant and appropriate patient information is entered and captured.

Undertake general typing duties for clinic letters, specialist and/or confidential reports e.g. DVLA, Registration of blind patients, inquests, police reports.

Investigate any patient DNAs and deferrals, communicating the results to the Consultants and business unit team as appropriate, updating CRS and waitlists accordingly.
