This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Machinist to join a well known company based in Somerset, with ambitious growth plans, you will form an integral part of the Machine shop team, undertaking a variety of important task on a daily basis.
The Role:
- Operating manual XYZ lathes and milling machines to manufacture and repair components used in electric motors, pumps, gearboxes and fans.
- Work closely with engineering colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in fault diagnosis and determine appropriate repair methods for a range of mechanical systems.
- Produce work to specified tolerances and quality standards
- Follow all safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and well-organised workshop.
The Package:
- £35,000 starting salary - £40k - £45k overall earnings.
- Day shifts - 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

Ideal Experience Required:
- Experience with Conventional Machines: Skilled in operating manual lathes and milling machines for precision machining tasks
- XYZ Turning experience
- Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc)
- Experience with welding and balancing would be beneficial
- Reading Technical Drawings: Ability to interpret engineering drawings to manufacture or repair components to specification
- Machining to Fine Tolerances
- Experience with using measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, callipers) to ensure accuracy and quality
