Summary
Elwood Recruitment are working in partnership with an emerging children’s residential care provider to recruit an experienced Deputy Manager for a newly established children’s home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is a rare opportunity to be the first Deputy Manager of a service, giving the successful candidate real autonomy to shape the culture, standards, and operational approach from day one, ahead of its first Ofsted inspection which is a very exciting aspect of this role.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and regulatory compliance of the home, ensuring high-quality, child-centred care and positive outcomes for young people.
Key responsibilities include:
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards
• Leading, developing and retaining a motivated staff team
• Working closely with social workers, local authorities, families and external professionals
• Creating a positive, stable and nurturing environment for children and young people
About You
You will be a confident, values-led leader with a genuine passion for children’s residential care.
Essential requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ senior / team lead / Deputy Management experience in a children’s residential setting
• Experience working with children with EBD
• Level 3 Children & Young People
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and quality frameworks
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
Desirable:
• Ability to commute within a reasonable distance of the home
