Job Details

Are you passionate about supporting students to be in education? We are seeking an Attendance Assistant to assist in the day to day running of the Registry and MIS functions.

You will assist with ensuring students and staff are correctly recording student absences and being a crucial element to ensuring students attend college where necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

Analyse and manipulate data across several spreadsheets/data bases
Analyse and manipulate data across several spreadsheets/data bases in order to chase
attendance monitoring requirements and communicate effectively with up to date knowledge to
students and parents.
Support the procedure for follow up on absence calls from students and parents and ensure that
accurate data entry is made on all relevant College systems in order that registers and
monitoring systems are kept up to date
To chase students who have not attended college to ensure appropriate action is to take place
within a 24 hour timeframe.
To keep records of all actions made in an organised and clear spreadsheet to ensure others can
use this data in follow up or reporting requirements
To be responsible for operating the College’s telephone system appropriately and ensuring that
any faults are reported promptly
To take appropriate action and response when dealing with student or parent feedback and/or
personal or telephone enquires
Update on skills and knowledge requirements as necessary for the job role and team
development, in order to allow continued high standards of service, team flexibility and provision
of support cover
Ability to prioritise and juggle various tasks within deadline required
Any other duties compatible with the post held which may reasonably be required from time to
time

Job Requirements:

Essential:

Level 2 in Maths & English
Experience within a Student Services environment.
Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
Proficiency with ICT systems and reporting tools.
Ability to deal with confidentiality and sensitive situations.

Desirable:

Knowledge of Education Financial Support funds
