Are you passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs? Do you have the resilience, adaptability, and enthusiasm to make a real difference? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team, fostering independence and skills development in students so they can reach their full potential.

Job Requirements:

Provide individualised learning support in both classroom and support centre settings.
Work collaboratively with teachers and the Supported employment manager to ensure effective and tailored support.
Assist in the implementation of learning support systems, processes, and procedures.
Act as an advocate for students with additional needs, liaising with teaching staff as appropriate.
Stay fully informed about Individual Support Plans and ensure teachers receive necessary support information.
Commit to continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge.
Participate in community activities within the support centre.
Adhere to college policies on student welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding.

The right candidate will have:

Essential

Qualified to GCSE/Level 2 in Maths and English.
Ability to work flexibly and respond creatively to students' diverse needs.
Resilience and adaptability in working with students who may have complex learning, social, or medical needs.
Strong communication skills and sensitivity to different communication styles.
Initiative and confidence in offering creative solutions to learning support challenges.
A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, committed to fostering positive student outcomes.
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within an educational environment.

Desirable

Qualified to Level 3 or above in a specialist subject.
Holds qualifications in Special Educational Needs (Level 3 or above).
Previous experience working in an educational environment in a similar capacity.
