Summary
Demonstrate advanced practice, competence and skilled physical examination during the pre- operative assessment phase of the patient pathway. Be responsible for the delivery of safe, high quality patient focused care. Be responsible for ensuring all resources are used to optimum effect, ensuring all members of the multidisciplinary team comply with local protocols in infection control, manual handling, Health and Safety, patient advocacy and will expediate quality issues, relating to Service delivery. Act as a resource, within the specialist areas of orthopaedics and preoperative assessment. Empowers nursing staff and other allied health care professionals to develop high levels of clinical skills and facilitates communication within all care groups. Deputise for the Unit Manager in their absence.
