Summary

We looking for a dedicated, and motivated Pastoral Manager to join the team at Oxted School. The role of the successful candidate will be to improve students’ wellbeing, behaviour and engagement by managing the day-to-day work of the Year Team and delivering targeted pastoral support. The Pastoral Manager ensures students are safe, supported and able to access learning, working closely with staff, parents and external agencies.
This is a full-time, term-time plus role (36 hours per week, 42 weeks per year).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide academic, emotional, social and behaviour support to identified students.
Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions in response to identified academic and/or pastoral needs.
Encourage and role model resilience, positive approaches to learning and excellent behaviour to all students.
Track attendance, academic, behaviour and pastoral concerns, acting swiftly on identified issues.
Act as a central point of contact for pastoral issues within the year group.
Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns promptly. Maintain accurate records of interventions and actions.
Qualifications and Skills:
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) with basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Ability to work towards Level 2 vocational qualifications or demonstrate specialist skills.
Competence with IT tools, strong communication, and organisational skills.
Physical ability to handle manual tasks and work collaboratively.
