Summary

General Science Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Sudbury and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.Duties as General Science Teacher:
  • Deliver engaging Science lessons following provided plans
  • Teach practical and theoretical content safely and effectively
  • Support students in developing key scientific knowledge and investigative skills
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet varied learning needs
  • Assess and record pupil progress when required
  • Contribute to departmental planning and collaboration during longer‑term placements
  • Encourage enthusiasm for scientific enquiry and critical thinking
Ideal General Science Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management abilities
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners of different abilities
  • Flexible and comfortable working across various school environments
  • Good communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
