Summary

An opportunity has arisen for the position of Crop Team Leader at our Tees Valley site, reporting to the Glasshouse Manager. Key aim of the role: Responsible for leading a focused team ensuring all crop work is carried out in an efficient manner in line with the company goals, Safe Working Practices and Customer Expectations, Quality, Performance, and Protocols.
Responsibilities:
•Ensure all tasks are carried out in a timely manner reducing crop losses and waste.
•Motivate team members and assess performance.
•Induction and training of new staff and develop on-the-job training to maintain core competencies of staff.
•Implementation of Industry best practice – Health, Safety and Environment, Quality and Customer requirements and care.

Operational
•Conduct regular updates on company goals and performance through regular team and individual meetings.
•Monitor the performance of each team member acting on any development issues.
•Assist in training the team to deliver a ‘can do’ attitude’.
•Apply team problem solving processes to eliminate wasteful activity and issues as they arise.
•Work with the HR team to ensure all company procedures are adhered to in terms of attendance and performance.
•Act as conduit to Senior Management raising issues and passing on performance information.
•Carry out regular quality assessments.

Technical
•Assist in all audits.
•Be technically competent regarding growing and harvesting processes to make informed decisions to maximise product quality and minimise waste.

Professional Development
•Attend any necessary training to assist in the role.
•Attain/hold a certificate in supervisory/management at an established level of competency.

Experience
•Relevant experience in managing and motivating staff in a fruit growing environment.
•Previous people management experience with the ability to educate, train and motivate others.
•Good verbal and written communication skills.
•Driving Licence preferred
