An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join a well-established, family-run luxury events retreat set within 14 acres of stunning countryside near Liskeard, Cornwall.

This is not a chaotic, late-night restaurant kitchen.

This is a professionally run, forward-planned events operation offering structure, stability and the opportunity to cook with creativity — without the burnout.

The Opportunity

The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional food across a varied events programme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen


  • Leading service in the Head Chef’s absence


  • Contributing to seasonal menu development


  • Maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation


  • Coaching and supporting junior team members


    This role is ideal for a strong Sous Chef who wants to step away from unpredictable restaurant service and into a structured, professional events kitchen.

    The Ideal Candidate

    • Experienced Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up


    • Confident running service and leading a section


    • Organised, calm and reliable under pressure


    • Passionate about quality, seasonal cooking


    • Strong communicator and team player


    • High standards of hygiene and cleanliness


      Due to the rural Liskeard location, own transport is essential.
