Summary
The successful candidate will alsohave the opportunity toleadgynaecologyclinics,antenatal clinics,theatre lists,elective Caesarean section listsandLabourward, in line with service requirements and individual competence. Candidates with an interest in, or accreditation for,colposcopy,vulvoscopy, and hysteroscopywill be supported to further develop andconsolidatethese subspecialist skills. The on-call commitment includes afixed weekday night shift1 in 4 and a Monday night 1 in 12.The post is offered on afull-time basis, comprising10 Programmed Activities (PAs)under thespecialist gradecontract.The job plan will be reviewedevery12 months, or earlier if required, to ensure that sessional commitmentsremainaligned with service needs and trainingobjectives. The post holder will be based at Wexham Park Hospital and will work closely withothercolleagueson site with the same special interest and with the Tertiarycancercenterat Hammersmith Hospital. Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (FHFT) has 2 acute hospital sites, Wexham Park Hospital (WPH) and Frimley Park Hospital (FPH), both with busy Maternity Units and Emergency Departments and a range of other services. In addition, a new state of the art pure elective unit (Heatherwood Hospital) was opened in 2022. FHFT serves a population ofnearly 900,000and is the only acuteTrustis itsICSwhich is Frimley Health ICS. The post holder will undertake their on-call and Obstetric commitments at Wexham Park Hospital. It isanticipatedthat the post holder will undertaketheir outpatientclinics and inpatient surgical operating sessions at both WPH and Heatherwood Hospitals. The Trust gained full GIRFT accreditation in 2023. Wexham Park Hospital (WPH) has a dedicatedGynaecology/Early Pregnancy SDEC area which is open 8am to 8pm seven days a week which the postholder will have opportunity to work in. The postholder will be expected toparticipatein cross-site guidelines and governance processes and teaching for both Obstetrics andGynaecology. They will be expected toparticipatein both local and networkGynaecologyOncology MDTs and management of the Suspected Cancer Pathways. They will be supported by Cancer Nurse Specialists and admin/cancer performance team.
