Summary
Stevie is a friendly person, easy to talk to who enjoys watching sport on TV and enjoys spending time with his Grandchildren. He is looking for a PA to support him daily he has a severe physical disability (Multiple Sclerosis).
A typical day for Stevie would be sitting watching TV sport/films and he would enjoy sharing his passion with someone who has a similar interest in sport you may also go on days out to the pub or walks.
As a personal assistant, you’ll assist with personal care (showering/toileting, moving and handling), as well as assisting with his exercise routine, such as stretching and helping on a power bike exerciser to help Stevie live life to the fullest.
Stevie would like to work with someone who has a caring nature, interested in football/sport and someone who is patient and understanding as Stevie sometimes gets frustrated and can be abrupt.
Stevie lives in Quarter, Hamilton, so it’s important you’re comfortable working in this area.
Experience with caring for someone with severe MS would be a benefit.
There is a small dog in the home so pet friendly would be an advantage.
Moving and handling experience working with someone with MS is preferred but not essential, as training will be given.
10-14 hours per week
08:30am-11:00am Monday to Friday (flexible hours can be discussed)
Some hours in the afternoon may be available
Recruiting for two positions
Guaranteed permanent positions 14 hours per week.
