Personal Assistant VM/LD/1.26
Abigail is an elderly lady living in the Wishaw area who is looking for a caring and reliable Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker to support her to live independently and comfortably at home. She values a supportive, positive environment where she can maintain her daily routine and enjoy social activities. Abigail is seeking someone warm, friendly, and proactive who can provide one-to-one support and companionship.
A typical day might include supporting Abigail with her morning routine, assisting with personal care, preparing meals and healthy snacks, and helping with day-to-day household tasks. Some days you may support with at-home medical appointments, while other days may be spent at home maintaining a comfortable and safe living environment.
In this role, you will support Abigail with all aspects of daily living. Abigail has a physical disability and requires assistance with personal care, including in-bed personal care and catheter care, support with medication, meal preparation, and moving and assisting using equipment such as a tracking hoist and manual wheelchair. You will also help with household tasks such as keeping floors and the bathroom clean, as well as providing encouragement and support to help her remain independent and engaged in daily life.
The ideal person will be kind, dependable, and have a good sense of humour, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. A proactive and innovative approach is important, along with a genuine desire to work in a caring role. Experience with moving and assisting is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. You must also be comfortable working in a home with cats.
This position is home-based in Wishaw, supporting Abigail within her home.

Typical shift times are Monday to Friday, 9am–8pm (with flexibility), and weekend shifts 8am–8pm. Hours will be discussed at interview.
