Please note this is a fixed term position for 12 monthsWorking hours: 20 hours per week (Evening Service) 4 pm to 8 pm daily except Sundays and WednesdaysInterview Date: To be confirmedThe Ark provides support for people who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple and complex needs. We have a great opportunity for a Support Worker (evening service) to provide practical and emotional support to clients referred to the service. You will be responsible for delivering a safe, welcoming environment and for coordinating activities and meals alongside volunteers. The service operates on a referral-only basis.Key Responsibilities:Provide practical and emotional support to clients, using Harm Trauma Informed Practices.Liaising with partner agencies to provide support and advocacy.Work with clients through person-centred support planning and enabling access to a range of meaningful activities.Work with clients as part of a Support Team to ensure the needs and actions within person centred plans are addressed in a professional manner.Successful candidate will have: Motivation towards supporting homeless individuals to achieve focussed and positive life outcomes.The ability to form supportive and motivating relationships.Able to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experience in catering services (desirable).In order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, a criminal record check an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and evidence of your Right to Work in the UK in line with Home Office requirements.As we are not a licensed sponsor, applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
