Pay: Paid to Scale

Start Date: Immediate Start

Are you an experienced and qualified SENCO looking for a part-time leadership role within a supportive primary school?

Are you passionate about ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally?

Do you have a strong understanding of SEND provision and the confidence to lead and develop inclusive practice across a school?

I’m Dan, and I’ve been working closely with primary schools for the past two years, supporting them with their recruitment needs. I’m currently working with a welcoming primary school in Southend who are looking to appoint a dedicated SENCO to join their team three days a week. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to driving high-quality SEND provision and working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.

The SENCO role involves leading and managing SEND provision across the school, overseeing EHCPs and support plans, monitoring progress of pupils with additional needs, and ensuring the school meets its statutory responsibilities. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to implement effective interventions, liaise with parents and outside professionals, and contribute to whole-school development planning. Working days are three days per week, with flexibility discussed at interview.

The successful SENCO will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • The National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)

  • Experience working with children with a range of SEND needs in a primary setting

  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

  • The ability to lead, advise, and support colleagues effectively

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one

    In return, you can expect:

    • A supportive and forward-thinking leadership team

    • A part-time role offering a healthy work-life balance

    • Ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities

    • Competitive rates of pay

    • PAYE pay, with tax and National Insurance handled correctly and no hidden charges
