Summary
Support Housing Officer Required - Fulham
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Pay - £15ph PAYE
Are you passionate about creating safe, sustainable tenancies for people who need supported housing? We are seeking a dedicated Pre-Tenancy Assessment Officer to join our team in Fulham.
You will carry out thorough, evidence-based assessments with prospective tenants to ensure they are appropriately matched to supported accommodation. Your work will play a vital role in identifying housing-related risks, assessing support needs, and confirming affordability to promote successful tenancy sustainment.
- Complete detailed housing-related risk assessments, identifying issues such as arrears, health concerns, safeguarding risks, antisocial behaviour, or property misuse.
- Conduct needs assessments to determine appropriate levels of housing support.
- Carry out affordability checks, reviewing income, benefits, and debt to ensure rent sustainability.
- Produce accurate assessment reports to inform allocations and support planning.
- Work collaboratively with housing officers, support staff, and external agencies.
- Identify and escalate safeguarding or high-risk issues in line with policy.
- Provide clear guidance to applicants on tenancy responsibilities and support options.
- Maintain accurate records in line with legal and regulatory standards.
Essential:
- Experience conducting assessments within supported housing, tenancy management, or related services.
- Strong understanding of tenancy sustainment, affordability, and housing-related risks.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and working with vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to analyse information and make balanced, evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interviewing skills.
- Strong organisational skills and confidence using IT systems.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualification in housing, social care, or related field.
- Knowledge of housing law, welfare benefits, and supported housing frameworks.
- Experience working in partnership with local authorities, health, or social services.
