Daily Rate: £105 per day
Start Date: ASAP

An alternative provision setting in South Manchester is seeking a reliable and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support a pupil with additional needs. This is a unique and rewarding role requiring a driver, as part of your responsibilities will include safely transporting the student between home, school, and the alternative provision venue.

This position would suit a calm, patient and adaptable individual who is committed to supporting young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

About the Role

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil accessing alternative provision, ensuring they are fully supported both academically and emotionally throughout the day. A key part of the role involves picking up and dropping off the student at designated locations (home, school and AP setting), so a valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle is essential.

This role offers the opportunity to build a strong, consistent relationship with a pupil who benefits from structured, nurturing support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 learning and emotional support within the alternative provision setting.
- Safely transport the pupil between home, school and the AP venue.
- Support engagement in learning activities and help overcome barriers to education.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
- Implement behaviour and support plans in collaboration with teaching and pastoral staff.
- Maintain clear communication with school staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times, particularly during transport.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle (essential).
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs or additional needs.
- Calm, resilient and able to build positive, trusting relationships.
- Confident using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
- Flexible, reliable and professional in approach.
- Available full-time (09:00-16:00, term-time only).
- Has the right to work in the UK.

Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience working within alternative provision or specialist settings.
- Team Teach, MAPA or similar behaviour management training.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young person's educational journey within a supportive and specialist environment.

What we offer
- Free access to CPD and safeguarding training
- Dedicated consultant and ongoing support
