Summary

This is an exciting time to join Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, as we progress a wide range of important work to advance equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation. We are also bringing together our People Services across three acute Trusts to maximise collective strength, expertise and consistency. Working as part of a small team of EDI Leads, the role will contribute to the design and delivery of the Trust’s EDI strategy and annual plans, provide specialist advice and guidance across the organisation, support the delivery of training and communications, and foster a culture of inclusion.

PLEASE NOTE:There will be two rounds of interviews. The first round will take place during the fourth week of March. Further details will be emailed shortly.

•Lead the Trust’s Workforce Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy, ensuring the promotion, monitoring and delivery of all legal, mandatory and best‑practice requirements relating to EDI across our workforce.

•Develop and implement an ambitious, comprehensive EDI Strategy and annual delivery plan, establishing clear shared accountability and embedding ownership across all divisions through a robust governance and reporting framework.

•Act as the policy lead for EDI, holding responsibility for the redesign, review and publication of all EDI‑related policies. Work collaboratively with Trade Union colleagues, staff network chairs and other stakeholders to ensure policies are understood, accessible and embedded throughout the Trust.

•Embed EDI principles across all interventions and team activities, fostering workplaces that are free from harassment and unlawful discrimination, where difference is valued, and where a culture of inclusion and celebration of diversity is co‑created with our people.

•Provide expert advice, guidance and support to staff networks, enabling them to be active, influential partners in shaping Trust‑wide strategies, priorities and people initiatives.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts. We operate two main acute hospital sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—along with award-winning clinics across North West London.

Our nearly 7,500 staff care for a diverse population of 1.5 million, providing full clinical services, including maternity, A&E, and children’s services, plus specialist HIV and sexual health clinics. The Care Quality Commission rates us 'Good' in safety, effectiveness, care, and responsiveness, and 'Outstanding' in leadership and resource use.

We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and Westminster and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex.

We welcome applications for flexible working arrangements, accommodating requests where possible to support our staff and patient needs.

The Trust is committed to equality and welcomes applications from all, regardless of background. Adjustments can be made for disabled candidates. Early application is advised as vacancies may close once sufficient applications are received. If you haven’t heard from us within three weeks of the closing date, your application was likely unsuccessful. Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period.

Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.

• Be responsible for creating and managing the Trust’s databases for all EDI reporting, ensuring accurate annual and quarterly data capture, completion of all statutory and mandatory online submissions, and effective operation of all EDI systems so that data is generated, updated and stored securely to a high standard.

• Analyse and interpret Trust‑wide equality, diversity and inclusion performance data, benchmarking against good practice and innovative approaches to provide targeted strategic and operational recommendations for improvement.
