Crynodeb

There are three Get2gether teams across Cornwall that have the responsibility to co-ordinate and deliver get2gether (contact) services for children, young people and their families in collaboration with key partners.

Get2gether service runs from our designated get2gether buildings, but get2gethers can also happen in other settings in the community for example Family Hubs. The teams work on an area basis and therefore travel is essential across the geographical area.

Get2gether workers work closely with social work colleagues and other professionals to deliver a key service to support an agreed goal.

The role of the Get2gether worker is an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of children from birth to 16 years, so good knowledge of child development is required. You will be required to support the child to have a safe, positive get2gether with their parents and significant others in a safe secure setting or out in the community depending on the family’s needs.

Position available:

West, Permanent & Full time (37 hours) - Camborne
East, Permanent & Full time (37 hours) - Liskeard
Mid, Permanent & Full time (37 hours) - Truro



Get2gether arrangements support children to maintain relationships with key family members when they cannot live at home.

As a Get2gether worker, you alongside your colleagues and you will support and facilitate a range of get2gethers/contacts for children, young people and their families. You will complete detailed observations that will feed in to social work reports and interventions.

You will work with a range of professionals towards a shared and common goal under the support and direction of the area Get2gether Co-Ordinator.

Your role will be to observe, offer support and guidance around parenting and modelling play. Your observations will feed in to parenting assessments that can be used in the court arena.

This role will require you to be flexible with your hours and to be able to drive to various locations and to transport some children to and from the get2gether.

This role will require an enhanced Disclosure & Barred List check.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.



Working Pattern:
Workers will be expected to be flexible in the working day and hours will vary depending on requests for get2gethers. You will be expected to work on a rota for Saturdays doing one in three.



What you’ll need to succeed:
You will need to have a level 3 qualification in a child/family related field e.g. child care, child development. You will need to evidence experience of working with children and/or their families. Demonstrate a high level of understanding of child development and the impact it has on good outcomes along with a robust knowledge and understanding of the challenges and complexities faced by children, young people and their families.
