Responsibilities

Handle claims in line with policy, process and regulatory requirements, delivering an excellent customer experience.
Assess, negotiate and settle a broad range of injury claims, from minor whiplash to complex cases including psychological injuries, fractures, scarring, head injuries and fatalities.
Investigate liability and quantum, identify fraud indicators, address indemnity concerns and make accurate early decisions.
Manage your caseload effectively, ensuring all actions are well-documented and systems remain fully up to date.
Apply claims knowledge and negligence principles to negotiate with third parties and achieve fair, cost-effective outcomes.
Take ownership of customer issues, aiming for first-call resolution and maintaining clear, proactive communication.
Use audit feedback to improve technical skills, support team development and take responsibility for your ongoing training.
Build strong working relationships with Claims suppliers to support the wider Claims strategy.
Recommend and implement solutions that meet service standards and minimise risk, leakage and unnecessary costs.
Support fair customer outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement within the Claims function.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to identify and resolve claim-related issues.
Maintain full compliance with FCA regulations and all relevant legal and risk requirements.

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

Knowledge of Motor Claims; specifically Personal Injury claims
Understanding of the FCA regulatory regime, FOS ethos and TCF initiatives
Ability to plan and organise own workload
Sound negotiation and influencing skills
Good level of both verbal and numerical reasoning, analytical, objective, solves problems by developing and applying solutions
Proficient in using IT word processing and spreadsheet packages
Understanding of the principles of negligence and how this applies to motor accident liability.
