Make Your Mark on a Major UK Offshore Wind Development

We're partnering with a leading renewable energy developer on a large UK offshore wind farm and are looking for an experienced WTG Pre‑Assembly & Installation Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of wind turbine pre‑assembly, load‑out, transportation and installation.

This is a high‑impact role at the heart of offshore construction, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the vessels, harbour operations and Tier 1 contractors - and wants to play a key part in the UK's energy transition.

The Opportunity

Acting as the WTG Pre‑Assembly & Installation Manager, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the full WTG pre‑assembly, load‑out, transport and installation (T&I) scope
  • Initially support the procurement and negotiation of the WTG installation vessel charter, then manage the agreement throughout execution
  • Provide day‑to‑day oversight of the WTG contractor during pre‑assembly and offshore installation
  • Act as a key interface between the WTG contractor, installation vessel and client team
  • Manage a small team of T&I Engineers and the associated engineering scope

You'll report to the WTG Package Manager and work closely with construction, commissioning, HSE and marine teams to drive safe, efficient and quality‑focused delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical & Delivery Leadership

  • Oversee WTG pre‑assembly, marshalling, load‑out, transport and offshore installation activities
  • Manage the installation vessel charter agreement, including performance and contractual compliance
  • Coordinate vessel audits, inspections and mobilisation activities
  • Act as the Employer's Representative for marshalling harbour and installation vessels

Safety & Risk Management

  • Lead HSE performance for Tier 1 contractors within your scope
  • Coordinate HAZIDs, HAZOPs and safety workshops, ensuring actions are tracked and closed
  • Drive proactive risk and opportunity management across the T&I scope

Interfaces & Stakeholders

  • Be the primary contact for the Marine Warranty Surveyor, ensuring all requirements are met for load‑out, transport and installation
  • Manage the interface between the WTG Contractor, the installation vessel, and the WTG Commissioning Manager
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the WTG Package Manager on progress, risks and mitigation
What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
  • Proven project management experience in large infrastructure/energy projects
  • Hands‑on experience managing offshore WTG load‑out, transport and installation operations
  • Demonstrable experience of construction and/or vessel contract management
  • Strong Health, Safety and Wellbeing mindset, with a track record of safe delivery
  • Knowledge of UK offshore wind construction regulation, including CDM Regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to contractor offices, marshalling ports and offshore sites as required

Desirable

  • Experience in offshore wind across multiple project phases (development, construction, commissioning)
  • Understanding of full project lifecycle / stage‑gate principles
  • Relevant GWO's

If you have offshore WTG Pre-Assembly & Installation experience and want to take a leading role on a major UK offshore wind project, we'd love to hear from you.
