Summary

About us
This post sits within the Housing Team. The major purposes of the role includes assisting the Housing Solutions and Supporting People Team Leader in the production, review and development of the Local Housing Strategy and to update the Local Housing Market Assessment as required.

To maximise funding and development opportunities to increase the supply of affordable housing within the Vale

To engage with partners to deliver housing strategy and wider corporate objectives ensuring that housing is a key driver in improving the Vale of Glamorgan in developing sustainable communities

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 8, Spinal point 26-30, Salary £37,280 - £40,777 FTE
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm
Main Place of Work: Civic Offices
Description: The Housing Strategy Coordinator plays a vital role in driving forward the
progression of the affordable housing programme in the Vale of Glamorgan through engagement
with partners, the development of the local Housing Strategy and Local Market Housing
Assessment (LMHA).

About you
You will need:

Knowledge of the Welsh Government’s National Housing Strategy and its links to other national and local strategies
Knowledge of the functioning of the housing market across all tenures and in particular the development of social housing
Good knowledge and experience of IT systems
An ability to think and act strategically. The ability to work in partnership to ensure the Local Housing Strategy delivers the desired outcomes
An ability to understand and interpret complex financial information in relation to bids for social housing.
An ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences
Analytical abilities necessary to interpret information
A strong commitment to customer and community focussed service provision
Good team player
Good organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, prioritise workload and cope with pressure
Ability to work outside of core hours when required
