Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to join our team and work at North View with North Manchester Inpatient Services.

This Ward Manager role presents an exceptional opportunity to join a state-of-the-art inpatient environment, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. The position emphasises patient-centred care and therapeutic engagement, ensuring that all aspects of direct patient care are delivered with the utmost quality.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a real passion for mental health nursing to become an Interim Ward Manager within our female service.

River Ward is a 10 bedded male PICU and is situated within the newly established mental health unit at North View, North Manchester General Hospital.

You will have the necessary skills to lead, support and manage staff, and be visible and accessible to service users and their families. Your skills should enable you to meet the requirements of this demanding post which include balancing operational management, professional leadership, supporting your team and the active development of the service.

You will be a role model and have a clear interest in acute mental health and supporting those who are in crisis. You will ensure staff commitment to good evidence based practice, ensure the delivery of a quality service and that key targets are being met.

Important in your role is also to enable user independence, choice, dignity and ensuring safety.

Develop and support a culture which values people’s rights, enables them to make informed choices and recognises each individual right to a valued life-style, positive social experiences and use of valued resources.

You will promote a least restrictive environment, leading on clinical risk management and person centred care planning.

You will be passionate about your role, and implementing change ideas through QI work streams.

You will predominantly work core hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and take part in Bronze on Call / Bronze on Site as per rota.

Our new state-of-the-art adult mental health inpatient hospital, North View, became fully operational on Monday 18 November 2024.

The bespoke, purpose-built development replaces Park House on the North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) site and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the future of inpatient mental health care for people in Manchester.
