We are delighted to be partnering with a global, market-leading manufacturing organisation to recruit a Financial Controller for their large-scale production site in North Ayrshire. This site is one of the most significant within the group’s European operations. Following substantial capital investment this is an exciting time to join the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance Business Support, the Financial Controller will act as a trusted and challenging business partner to the Site Management Team, providing financial insight, robust control and commercial support to drive performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with site leadership to develop insight into key business drivers and KPIs.
• Ensure delivery of agreed business and financial plans through effective financial control and governance.
• Lead site accounting, reporting and compliance processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage month-end close activities in line with corporate deadlines, working closely with regional finance and shared service teams.
• Oversee product costing, variance analysis, manufacturing performance reporting and inventory control.
• Provide first-line financial analysis and insight on actuals, forecasts and budgets.
• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Manage UK payroll and VAT processes, alongside supporting wider tax and compliance activities.
• Oversee site SAP processes, including integration of a new production line and development of reporting structures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and site operations.
About You
• Degree qualified in Accounting and a member of a recognised accounting body (or working towards).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance or controlling role, ideally within manufacturing or a complex operational environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including tax and compliance.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Proactive, self-motivated and solutions-focused.
