Summary
• Ensure all areas of the home are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and residents clothing items are cleaned and cared for correctly as stated on labels or/and their personal requests are adhered to.
• Carry our domestic duties as required including the making of beds and cleaning of resident rooms, communal areas and toilets to a high standard.
• Ensure that residents clothing is collected and taking to the laundry and then returned and placed away with care in the residents rooms.
• To ensure the set-up and clearing of the dining areas are undertaken after every meal sitting, ensuring that they are cleaned to a high standard.
• To follow records set out in residents personalised Care Plan.
• Observe the welfare of the residents ensuring privacy and dignity is respected at all times.
• Adhere to resident’s choice on awakening times and bed times when cleaning their personal space and/or taking laundry to and from their rooms.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment within the Home with due regard to appropriate food hygiene and health and safety regulations. To report all accidents/incidents to the Senior Carer or Home Manager.
• Maintain a safe environment for all residents and staff by using warning and hazard signage when work is in progress.
• Report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance to the Senior Carer or Home Manager.
• To deal with waste bags in accordance with their prescribed disposal.
• To ensure that all appropriate protective clothing is worn at all time and that equipment is used with due care and attention.
• Ensure that all required administrative processes are completed including updating and logging information in reports and charts. You are also required to read the home’s communication book before the start of your shift, to cover any previous logs over days you have been off work if appropriate
