The Grosvenor Hotel is seeking an experienced Hotel Receptionist to join our team on a zero-hour basis. This role requires someone confident in hotel reception operations, guest service, and basic bar service, as reception is linked to the hotel bar.
Shifts are offered based on business needs and will include evenings, weekends, and busy periods. Candidates must be comfortable with short-notice shifts and peak seasonal demand.
Main duties and responsibilities
Manage guest check-in and check-out processes efficiently
Handle reservations, guest enquiries, and telephone calls
Provide excellent customer service and resolve guest issues professionally
Process payments and maintain accurate records
Prepare basic bar drinks and serve guests from the reception bar area
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of reception and bar areas
Communicate effectively with housekeeping and management
Follow health & safety and licensing procedures

Essential
Previous hotel reception experience
Familiarity with check-in and check-out procedures
Experience using hotel booking / PMS systems
Strong customer service skills
Confident handling payments and guest enquiries
Reliable and punctual
Able to work independently
Comfortable working short notice shifts
Availability to work public holidays, Christmas, summer months, and school holiday periods
Able to provide overnight cover when required
Right to work in the UK
Desirable
Bar or hospitality service experience
Flexibly able to work evenings, weekends, and busy periods
Experience in small independent hotels
