Summary
Training 1.1 To deliver a training programme for patient moving and handling in line with the Trust Policy, Health and Safety Legislation, National recognized guidance, and The Health and Safety Executive. 1.2 Deliver training packages to targeted Trust staff predominantly at training centres and also on site (as needed), ensuring that those staff trained are competent to undertake patient lifting responsibilities. 1.3 To provide expert knowledge to colleagues on Patient Moving and Handling. 1.4 To undertake assessments of patient moving and handling on site to validate staff training requirements. 1.5 To be able to work in collaboration with all staff across the Trust and discuss any relevant issues as they arise. 1.6 To enable teams to complete appropriate assessment of bariatric needs of individuals to ensure patient and staff safety during moving and handling. 1.7 To identify gaps in delivery of high quality training for Patient Moving and Handling, and to collaborate with services to put in place appropriate corrective actions. 1.8 Promote the role of the service as a contributor to high quality care, clinical governance and risk reduction. 1.9 Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 1.10 Keep relevant, clear and accurate records of training and assessment activity ensuring that confidentiality is upheld 1.11 Working closely and collaboratively as a team towards set objectives and use personal discretion in the prioritisation of workload and how to support the delivery of moving and handling to the Trust, across all sites. 1.12 Adopting robust reporting tools to provide the Trust with Assurance that that the services meet the required standards for safe and efficient Patient Moving and Handling. 1.13 Training on relevant legislation, use of risk assessments, analysis of incident reporting and enabling staff to carry out patient assessments.
