Summary
Location: Bisley, Woking
Pay: £14 per hour (open to discussion depending on hours and availability)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, easy-going Support Worker to spend time with a fun-loving and active 10-year-old boy with a great sense of humour. This role is focused on companionship, play, and helping him enjoy his time while giving his mum some well-deserved rest or time to catch up on chores.
Hours:
• Around 3–6 hours across Saturdays and Sundays during term time
• During school holidays, approximately 3 hours per day, though not necessarily every day
• Hours are very flexible and can vary week to week
About:
He loves being out and about and enjoys staying active. His interests include playing energetic games at home (such as hide and seek and Nerf games), using the Nintendo Wii, cooking and baking, and generally having fun and laughing. He is fully mobile and communicates verbally, though he has a speech and language difficulty, so patience, encouragement, and a calm approach are important.
The Role:
• Supporting him with active play and outings
• Playing games and engaging in activities at home
• Encouraging communication in a positive and supportive way
• Occasionally helping with light household tasks (such as hoovering or wiping down the kitchen) if he is resting or watching his tablet
• Occasional driving may be required to take him further afield (reimbursed at standard 45p per mile)
About You:
• Enthusiastic, relaxed, and confident using your initiative
• Patient and encouraging, especially with communication
• Personal or professional experience with SEN is preferred, but not essential
• Happy to work in a family home with two cats
This is a relaxed and flexible role with a welcoming family, and everything is open to discussion for the right person.
