Summary
Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) Operator - EMEA
The GSOC Operator is a key member of the Global Security Operations Centre, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Meta's people, assets, and reputation across the EMEA region. This role requires 24/7 coverage and involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to incidents that may impact business operations, employees, or the brand. The GSOC Operator acts as a central point for incident detection, response, and communication, supporting both crisis and non-crisis situations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Monitor alarms, surveillance cameras, and video equipment (including fire, internal and perimeter doors, and duress alarms) to detect and assess incidents.
-Answer and respond to routine and emergency calls, providing assistance to employees and guests.
-Dispatch security officers, Emergency Response Teams (ERT), facilities, police, fire, and EMS personnel as required via telephone and radio.
-Proactively monitor and respond to all security and safety system alarms.
-Communicate incident information to leadership and key partners using established best practices and communication channels.
-Escalate complaints, unusual, or critical events immediately to the GSOC Lead Operator and Duty Shift Manager.
-Act as a liaison between all departments and the Physical Security department.
-Maintain accurate records of communications, events, equipment.
-Log all equipment and keys signed out and returned by security or other parties.
-Inform the Lead Operator or Duty Shift Manager promptly of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment or systems.
-Conduct open-source research to identify threats to people, assets, and reputation.
-Maintain awareness of regional political, economic, and security developments.
-Use multiple internal and external resources to gather and manage intelligence about events that may impact the business.
-Participate in position-related projects, with responsibilities ranging from consulting to project ownership.
-Maintain control of all GSOC equipment and ensure operational readiness at all times.

-Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

-Strong decision-making skills in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
-Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
-Clear communication and guidance skills, especially during emergencies.

-Second language skills are highly desirable.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
-Experience working within a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or similar environment.
-Strong experience in the use of CCTV systems; SIA CCTV licence is advantageous.
