In this varied role, you’ll help deliver an effective housing assistance service, including Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs), private sector housing enforcement, home energy efficiency initiatives and wider housing improvement work. You’ll work directly with residents, contractors, partner agencies and internal teams to ensure homes are safe, suitable and meet statutory requirements.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work sensitively with vulnerable residents.
Technical understanding of housing standards, Building Regulations and adaptation work (or willingness to learn).
Ability to interpret plans, prepare schedules, and assess property conditions.
A methodical approach to case management, record keeping and workload organisation.
Confidence to take appropriate enforcement action where necessary and with guidance.
Commitment to equality, safeguarding, high quality customer service and continuous improvement.
Why join us?
Meaningful work that directly improves residents’ quality of life.
Supportive team environment with plenty of opportunities for training and development
28 days annual leave or 33 days with 5 years continuous service plus bank holidays and up to 2 days flexi leave per month.
Excellent local government benefits and pension scheme.
The chance to shape housing standards and energy efficiency across our district and the county
We operate a ‘hybrid working’ model with a mix of office based, home and remote working available when suitable. The contractual base will be office based with agreed flexibility to work from home or at remote working locations in the borough.
