Summary
This varied role will involving handling resident complaints about housing conditions, assessing HMO and caravan site licence applications, and carrying out site visits and property inspections. It will also support day to day enforcement activities of the team whilst allowing the post holder to develop specialist expertise in financial support schemes, aimed at tackling cold homes and fuel poverty. As the team’s key officer in this area, they will help local residents access relevant funding and improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
The successful applicant will have an excellent eye for detail, a logical and proactive approach to problem solving, and a willingness to learn and develop professionally. The post holder will be supported by experienced colleagues and the Housing Standards Lead Officer to build strong knowledge of housing legislation. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as the role involves a varied and sometimes demanding workload while delivering high quality customer service.
