Summary
Neway International are seeking a Street Scene & Waste Operative Manual Labour to join our client based with Plymouth City Council.
Hours: 37 per week
Pay Rates:
• PAYE: £99.45 per day
• Limited/Umbrella: £131.45 per day
Work Pattern: Monday–Thursday 6:00–14:30, Friday 6:00–11:00

Plymouth City Council’s Street Scene and Waste Services team delivers essential frontline services that keep the city clean, safe, and well‑maintained. The service supports environmental quality, waste management, and the upkeep of public spaces across the community.
The Role
This role supports the Street Scene and Waste Services team in delivering high‑quality manual labour tasks across the service area. You will contribute to maintaining clean and safe public environments, working within established procedures and service standards. This is a short‑term assignment providing essential cover during staff sickness.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out manual labour tasks across Street Scene and Waste operations
• Support waste, cleansing, and environmental maintenance activities
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and operational guidelines
• Work effectively within a team to meet service delivery targets
• Maintain high standards of customer care and professionalism
• Complete tasks in line with service expectations and daily schedules
Candidate Requirements
• Experience in manual labour or outdoor operational work
• Ability to work early morning shifts and meet physical demands of the role
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety practices
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team
• Flexible and able to adapt to varied operational tasks
