Summary
Your primary responsibility is to protect the public, and environment. You will also be qualified as an animal licensing inspector having a role to play with regard animal welfare.
You will effectively promote and enforce regulatory compliance across the whole breadth of the Council’s licensing functions, which include the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, hackney and private hire, animal welfare, pavement licensing, amongst others. This will include the making of officer determinations surrounding licences, registrations etc., where delegated, for example the refusal to grant a licence or the suspension or revocation of a licence. This will entail a high level of responsibility considering the direct impact of your decisions on public safety and the livelihoods of proposed applicants and licence holders.
You will support the efficient delivery of licences, registrations, notices, permits etc.
You will regulate to achieve local economic growth, for example by improving regulatory outcomes without imposing unnecessary burdens or by providing Primary Authority Services.
To implement important financial controls for the Licensing Authority (particularly around the reporting and the collection of fees).
