Location: Location: South Kensington, London – Hybrid working: 3 days in the office/hotels, 2 days from home. This may vary with project work requirements.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Technology & Data to lead the technology, digital and data strategy across the Malmaison & Hotel du Vin estate. This is a senior leadership role with accountability for technology strategy and innovation, cyber security, data governance and the end‑to‑end digital guest experience across a multi‑property hotel environment.
Working closely with executive and senior stakeholders, you will ensure technology and data enable operational efficiency, excellence, revenue growth, guest satisfaction and brand differentiation, while maintaining robust security, compliance and resilience across the group.
Based at our UK Head office in London, the role will require frequent travel to the properties across the UK.
What you’ll be doing as Head of Technology & Data:
- Lead and deliver the group‑wide Technology & Data strategy, ensuring alignment with business and brand objectives.
- Own and develop the AI strategy, driving practical application across guest experience, operations and decision‑making.
- Take accountability for the end‑to‑end digital guest journey across pre‑stay, in‑stay and post‑stay touchpoints.
- Oversee the delivery of technology for hotel refurbishments, conversions and new openings, including pre‑opening readiness.
- Define and execute a robust data strategy, covering architecture, governance, quality and lifecycle management.
- Enable actionable analytics and insight to support pricing, forecasting, performance management and operational decisions.
- Ensure effective integration and optimisation of core hotel and guest‑facing systems, including PMS, EPOS, CRM and booking platforms.
- Own the cyber security, data protection and compliance agenda, including GDPR, PCI‑DSS, risk management and audit remediation.
- Maintain resilient IT operations, infrastructure and disaster recovery across all properties and offices.
- Act as a senior partner to all central functions including Finance, Procurement, Commercial, Marketing and Operations teams, using technology and data to drive revenue and guest satisfaction.
- Build, lead and develop a high‑performing Technology & Data function, with clear succession and capability planning.
- Manage vendors, managed services and technology programmes, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time and cost‑effective delivery.
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive experience leading complex IT programmes and portfolios within a multi‑property hotel environment.
- Strong technical expertise in hospitality systems, including PMS platforms such as Opera Cloud and related hotel technologies.
- Proven experience designing and operating cloud‑based environments, including Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS.
- Broad understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including servers, networks, virtualisation, Wi‑Fi and Windows environments.
- Strong accountability for data security, compliance and risk management, including PCI standards, IT policies and security awareness.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong understanding of data capture and dashboard development.
- Demonstrable senior leadership experience, operating at executive level and influencing board‑level stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate high‑performing Technology teams.
- Strong experience managing third‑party managed services, outsourcing arrangements and complex vendor relationships.
- Exposure to luxury hospitality, international hotel brands or premium service environments (UK‑focused or global).
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Flexibility to travel across the UK and support hotel pre‑opening activity where required.
