Kisharon Langdon has an exciting opportunity for a Community Support Worker (Day Opportunities) to join their growing team in North West London.

We have full time (35 hours per week) and part time (18.50 hours per week) positions available.
Shift pattern: (approx.) - Full time - Monday 0830 to 1700 / Tues to Thurs 0830 to 1630 & Friday 0830 to 1pm or 4pm
Shift pattern: (approx.) - Part Time - as agreed with your manager
The Role
As a Community Support Worker, you will be required to work individually and as part of a team to support and enable people to participate in a range of activities, ensuring their needs are met and facilitating a friendly, safe and sociable environment.
Key Responsibilities
To organise activities that the person wants to engage in, such as Jewish activities, exercise and going for walks, play therapy including water play.
To provide support in a person-centred way and in line with the organisational values of Respect, Integrity, Community and Excellence
To promote the Jewish ethos and ensure that the people are supported in line with Jewish values and lifestyles including morning prayers, Jewish activities and Jewish festivals
To promote independence and everyday living skills/life skills
To develop and facilitate various programmes of interest either on a person-centred basis or in a group e.g., drama, music, karaoke, reading, numeracy and literacy
To support with personal care and feeding, including peg feeding
To build opportunities and relationships in the local community through work experience and community outreaches and integration
To show people dignity and respect at all times
To strive to always provide excellent care and individualised support
To bring your own interests, creativity and positivity to engage the people we support.
To be flexible and adaptable to changes
About You
Unqualified candidates are encouraged to apply. (£12.39 per hour)
*Qualified candidates need to demonstrate they have completed an Ofqual QCF (NVQ) Level 2 qualification or higher in Health & Social Care (for the higher rate of pay £13.22 per hour).
Ideally (but not essential) you will have an NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care level 3, Care Certificate or equivalent experience.
You must have a good standard of written English. Experience of working with adults with a learning disability is desirable but not essential. Understanding / awareness of or willingness to learn about Jewish culture is essential.
Full training will be given to the successful applicant.
