JTA Residential Care operates two Ofsted-rated GOOD children’s homes supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). We are looking for committed, energetic and emotionally intelligent Residential Support Workers who can match our energy and help young people rebuild trust and stability.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Residential Support Worker, you will:
Support and encourage young people to reach their full potential
Create a warm, safe and structured home environment
Build trust while maintaining professional boundaries
Empower young people to develop life skills (cooking, travel, budgeting, self-care)
Support care planning – contributing to risk assessments, behaviour plans and individual goals
Keep accurate, reflective records and complete effective shift handovers
Administer medication safely and responsibly
Manage petty cash appropriately
Complete health & safety checks
Work collaboratively within a team
Always follow safeguarding procedures
We operate waking night shifts — professionalism and alertness are essential.
Essential Requirements
⚠ UK experience within a children’s residential setting is required
✔ Experience working with children or young people in a residential care setting
✔ Understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills
✔ Emotional resilience and ability to manage challenging behaviours
✔ Full UK driving licence
✔ Right to work in the UK
Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (preferred)
If you do not already hold Level 3, you must be willing to complete it within 2 years
