We are looking for a caring, dependable, and compassionate Personal Assistant to support a 54-year-old woman with paraplegia and multiple long-term health conditions. She is currently temporarily bed-bound and lives as independently as possible in her own home, although her health can fluctuate and some days may require more proactive adjustments to her care. She also has two very affectionate dogs at home who may bark initially but quickly settle once they get to know you.
This role focuses on providing practical, day-to-day support to help her maintain comfort, dignity, and independence in a safe and respectful way. Support will include monitoring and preparing medication, providing administrative assistance, occasionally planning and preparing meals, completing daily bed changes, assisting with dressing and undressing, walking the dogs, and carrying out general domestic tasks. Occasional personal care may also be required on an as-needed basis.
The PA will need access to their own car. She is aiming to obtain a Motability vehicle in the future; in the meantime, the Personal Assistants may need to accompany her in her own car and potentially drive her home, so an automatic driving licence/ability to drive an automatic is essential.
This is a rewarding one-to-one role within a home environment and would suit someone who is calm, reliable, and compassionate, with a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference to someone’s daily life.
