I’m looking for a reliable, down-to-earth person to provide support in my day-to-day life. I’m an animal lover with two cats (one older, one younger), and before having my children I trained horses, so being comfortable around animals is important.

My interests are varied and include crafting (when my hands allow), gardening and DIY (with support now), listening to music (I have a wide and varied taste), reading and books, fashion, cooking occasionally, and spending time making my home cosy and comfortable. Family time is important to me, especially time with my daughter who is 9 years old.

The role would involve practical and light support around my home with a small amount of personal care, also to get me out and about which I struggle with. Some flexibility would be required depending on my needs. Hours and days can be flexible and can be split if required.

I would ideally prefer someone who is self-employed, but I’m also happy to consider employing the right person.

If you’re friendly, adaptable, and enjoy a varied role in a relaxed home environment, I’d love to hear from you.

Duties include:
- Personal grooming
- Other relevant duties as required
- Housekeeping
- Shopping
- Cooking
- Companionship

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Must be comfortable with pets
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
