Summary

Neway International are seeking four SEND Officers – Hybrid to join our client based with Central Bedfordshire Council.

Location: Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Central Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ
Hours: 37 hours per week
Start Date: 9 March 2026
Duration: 12 weeks (extended after review)
Rate: PAYE: £225.00 per day - Limited/Umbrella: £301.08 per day
Work Pattern: Hybrid – expected to attend the office as required to carry out the role

The SEND Team works collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals to ensure statutory responsibilities are met and high‑quality Education, Health and Care (EHC) processes are maintained.

The Role
The SEND Officer will support the effective management of SEND casework, with a particular focus on processing and amending annual reviews. Working closely with Senior SEND Officers, the postholder will ensure legal timelines are met, documentation is accurate, and decisions are informed by evidence‑based assessments.

Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of SEND annual reviews, ensuring timely and accurate amendments

Work collaboratively with Senior SEND Officers to maintain oversight of case progression

Liaise with families, schools, and professionals to gather and interpret evidence

Make fair, informed decisions in line with statutory guidance

Maintain high‑quality written records and documentation

Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children & Families Act 2014

Prioritise workload effectively to meet statutory deadlines

Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners

Uphold confidentiality and professional standards at all times

Candidate Requirements
Previous experience as a SEND Officer or within a similar statutory SEND role

Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children & Families Act 2014

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to analyse evidence and make informed decisions

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

High‑quality written skills and accuracy in documentation

Comfortable working in a hybrid model, attending the office as required
