Summary

An interesting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the high profile Civic Office Team as the Civic Officer.The role provides extensive support to the Lord Mayor in managing the civic function of the Council, being the lead contact for a number of external partners and organisations in all matters which may require a civic response. The role leads on arranging and attending many high profile civic events. These include assisting to plan major city wide events such as Remembrance Sunday and the Holocaust Memorial Day. Leads with the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund, promoting the Charity to ensure funds are generated. Manages two Beadles who serve the Lord Mayor.You will need to be highly organised; reliable, and have a pleasant and diplomatic manner at all times.You will be required to undertake some work outside of normal hours including five Sundays and the same number of evenings on an annual basis, to attend civic and charity events you will have played a part in organising, such as Remembrance Sunday; the Lord Mayor’s Civic Service, and various charity events, to ensure they run smoothly.
